Abstract

Introduction: After studying the life and the surroundings of the Juake poet, John Greenleaf Whittier, I find that from his first verse to his last he is a part of the people and very strong, Massachusetts people. He dearly loved his country, and to him no orange grove of sorrents could be sweeter than the beautiful pine grove of Rawoth Hill. No rale of Cashmere could ever hold to him half the wondrous beauty of Manchester Woods.
