dc.descriptionDuring her time as First Lady from 1950-1975, Mrs. McCain was an excellent hostess to speakers and researchers such as Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Truman Capote. As a member of the Social Club she began the tradition of a Spring luncheon for new and retiring board members. She was also a member of P.E.O. and instrumental in founding a local chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was the wife of president James McCain.
