Smoldering fires in solos. A miracle happened: an FGIS employee was working in the top of the 225 foot headhouse when the explosion occurred. He was blown out onto the top of the silo above conveyor that comes down to the steel tank in lower left corner of the picture: a 125 foot fall. When a helicopter was unable to lift him off because of dense black smoke he jumped down onto the 4 foot wide covered conveyor. He was then helped into a basket and airlifted to a hospital and treated for a broken leg and other injuries.
