Description

Johnson grass is the over-wintering host of MDMV. The virus survives in the rhizomes and when growth resumes, aphids feed on Johnson grass and acquire the virus and disseminate it to other plants.
Host/Plant: Corn and numerous other crops and grasses. (Zea mays)
Pest/Path: Maize Dwarf Mosaic potyvirus (Potyviridae)
