Abstract
Description
The stylet penetration and feeding behavior of the soybean aphid, Aphis glycines Mat., on host and non-host plants was monitored using the Electrical Penetration Graph (EPG). The results showed that phloem ingestion was reduced or did not happen on the non-host plants, Gossypium hirsutum, Cucumis sativa and Luffa cylindrica, compared with that on the host plant, Glycines max, The non-host plants possess resistance against A. glycines. The factors affecting ingestion and their position on the plant were different along with the difference of the non-host plants.
