Electron microprobe analyses were done at the University of Colorado Boulder using a JEOL 8230 electron microprobe equipped with five tunable wavelength dispersive spectrometers and the Probe for EPMA software package.

in situ trace element analyses determined by laser ablation-inductively coupled-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) using a New Wave Research/ESI 193nm excimer laser ablation system coupled with a Thermo Scientific iCapQ quadrupole mass spectrometer housed at the Trace Element and Radiogenic Isotope Lab (TRaIL) at the University of Arkansas. Data reduction was performed using the Iolite Software Program

Cu isotope analyses were completed using two different mass spectrometers: an Isoprobe (MicroMass) and a Neptune (Thermo).

Whole major and trace element analyses whole rock powders analyzed by LA-ICP-MS through Hamilton Analytical Laboratory used a Photon Machines Analyte 193 (G1) ablation station (UV excimer laser, 193nm, with laminar flow frame cell), with a laser spot size of 150 m2 and 7 Hz repetition rate.
