Soybean Aphid Literature in Translation

Content displayed within this collection was originally collected by the library department Information Support Services for Agriculture (ISSA). Soybean aphids first appeared in the U.S. in 2000, yet published research at the time was typically found in Korea, Japan, and China in their original languages. With grants received in 2001 and 2003 professors from the University of Minnesota and Kansas State University Librarians jointly collaborated to locate and translate this literature. Additional translation assistance was provided by three translators from the China Agricultural University and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Other literature (not translated) related to the subject matter was also collected and included in the collection during this time period to assist researchers in fully understanding the outbreak of infestation that spread through the upper Midwest in the early 2000s. This project officially ended in June 2003.

The following grants were received in 2001 and 2003:

United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Project ID 01-8100-0723-C, 2001

United Soybean Board (USB), Project ID 2202, 2002

United Soybean Board (USB), Project ID 3202, 2003
