Description

Wheat streak is vectored by the wheat curl mite, Eriophytes tulipae. After wheat matures, mites will be disseminated via wind to corn and other hosts. The reddish kernels are indicative of mite damage.
Host/Plant: Corn, wheat, oats, barley, rye (Zea mays)
Pest/Path: Wheat streak mosaic virus (Potyvirus)
