Description

Closeup of exhibiting conidia. Appearance is of "down", hence the name, downy mildew. Conidia are very fragile and usually are seen in early morning. Of limited importance in wide spread dissemination of the disease.
Host/Plant: Grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor, species of Euchlaena, Panicum, Pennisetum, and Zea)
Pest/Path: Sorghum Downy Mildew (Peronosclerospora sorghi)
